I am working on a retained search to identify a Senior Project Manager for a European market leader, delivering technology-enabled transformation and innovation in the public and private sectors. Based on current demand within the business and their focus on new opportunities on the horizon, they are looking to recruit an ambitious, talented professional to join PPM Centre of Excellence.

Senior Project Managers are at the forefront of their technology strategy, using expertise and skills to; embrace innovation, create effective teams and deliver business benefits. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work on a variety of engagements across the UK, working both independently and within programme teams.

Key Responsibilities:
*Promote and encourage programme and project management best practice
*Promote and implement financial management controls
*Active management of internal and external stakeholders
*Identification of business growth opportunities
*Assists and mentors project managers where required
*Identifies and champions programme and project management process improvements
*Benefits realisation (modelling and embedding)
*Technology enablement: understanding current and forthcoming technology solutions and trends to support business change
*Lead assignments and projects and create strong and effective relationships with customers
The Person:

*Ability to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels within an organisation
*Ability to work either as part of a team or as the single representative on a client site

Essential Skills:
*Strong track record of successful large scale project delivery
*Knowledge and skills in Programme and Project management methods and tools
*Delivery of high performance, high quality engagements and assignments with a client focus
*Ability to consistently achieve tight deadlines under pressure and be adept at eliciting excellent team performance
*Skilled people motivator, a self-starter possessing the drive and courage to meet and exceed performance management targets
*Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to business problems
*Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
*Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
*Our clients are located across the UK. As such Candidates must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (primary locations are London/ South East/ M4 Corridor)
*All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK
Desirable Skills:
*Experience at a senior level in the successful delivery and assurance of large scale and complex Projects, and related training, qualifications and certifications
*Previous exposure in a Central Government/Local Government/Regional Government environment would be beneficial
*Extensive experience in PPM delivery
*Extensive knowledge and experience using change management methods
*Advanced skills in PPM methods and tools
*Experience working in a consultancy or service focused organisation
*The candidate will have experience managing senior executive stakeholders
*The candidate will have experience of line managing a team
*Security Clearance (SC) would be beneficial
Projects and Programmes are wide and varied, so the ideal candidate will have a breath of experience including digital transformation, agile delivery, building DevOps environments, infrastructure etc. People with varied experience also tend to be more versatile and adaptable to change, which is important in this role.

As well as externally facing client projects, the business itself is undergoing a large scale transformation, so there is a lot of movement in the business, switching and changing direction. This role requires someone who can deliver to their clients and insulate their projects from these changes. This is a dual role, at the core the ability to deliver projects in a structured, sound and successful way - also supporting internal transformation/ part of a team delivering strategic internal initiatives, so a real opportunity shape the business moving forwards, therefore, experience of managing change/ transformation projects is highly desirable

This role will be challenging, yet very rewarding. Individuals are very valued and encouraged to bring new ideas to help shape and ultimately grow the business. My client is moving into new areas/ not traditional business, whilst simultaneously going through a rebranding exercise to become a different player in the marketplace.
