Job description:

I am working on a retained search to identify a Business Unit Lead (ITO : Managed Services : Apps Mgt), for a European market leader, delivering technology enabled transformation & IT Managed Services in the public and private sectors. This role is about driving profit and the role will be bonused on achieving % point increase.

The new strategy is towards solution sales/ services, meaning a change of direction for the business units, so a new Business Unit will be created to manage around £30m of the existing ITO/ Managed Services business, in the Government sector.

This new Business Unit will create better economies of scale with a shared service mgt, PMO and account management team.

My client is looking for someone who is a highly commercial/ contract manager/ P&L unit manager, who can successful manage delivery of these existing contracts/ SLA's and drive increased profit over the next 2-3 years.

This role would suit someone highly experienced in managing delivery of ITO contracts, with proven capability, looking to take on a role for the next 2-3 years and be well compensated for improving profit margin. Or at the other end of the spectrum, someone who is at the earlier stages of their career, who has the attributes, and would relish the opportunity to set this up and prove themselves in a P&L mgt role, do it successfully for the next 2-3 years, leading on to bigger and better things internally or externally, given the skills and experience they will gain. It's a real opportunity to be mentored and coached by the MD in P&L management/ contract/ commercial/ client and account management & delivery.

You do not necessarily need to know Public Sector - it's about highly commercial contract management and delivery within ITO/Apps Mgt space - perhaps working for an IT Outsourced Provider or similar - Finance/ Commercial Contracts Mgr.
